Back in September 2021, Hailey Bieber took a vacation to Jamaica with best friend Kendall Jenner; Jenner’s then-boyfriend, Devin Booker; and Bieber’s husband, Justin. It was a double date in paradise, judging from the photos, and now Bieber is ringing in 2023 with a comeback tour of snaps from the trip.

On Wednesday, she posted three throwback photos, which included a bright green thongkini moment. The underwire top tied at the back with an elongated bow, and the bottom left little to the imagination. Styled with a ’90s-inspired black bucket hat from Jacquemus, both the silhouette and full outfit combination remain popular — even though the getaway took place a year and a half ago. But as most of the world is back to the office grind, it seems as good a time as any to reminisce about being beachside. The 26-year-old supermodel captioned her post “lost files from 🇯🇲☀️,” kicking off the carousel with an image of herself in high-waisted, wide-leg flares from EB Denim and a colorful Ashley Williams London bikini top.

Bieber is far from the only celebrity in on the thongkini trend. Jenner, who rocks the look on the regular, brought her fair share to Jamaica, too, sharing them on Instagram Stories in real time 16 months ago. Her sister Kylie Jenner most recently wore a black thongkini in October. And last summer, Kim and Khloé Kardashian packed matching designs for Turks and Caicos.

The cut of Bieber’s bikini might bring to mind her New Year’s Eve dress by Mugler, which featured a cutout back and exposed thong. Prior to that, she revealed her underwear in a sheer Mirror Palais dress that boasted an up-to-there slit.
